:: VITALS ::
NAME:: Toby
GENDER:: Male
AGE:: 2 years
SPECIES:: Blue Jay
PERSONALITY::
Childish, brave, greedy, and clever—Toby loves playing tricks on other birds no matter their size. He’ll sneak up behind a bird and give out the loudest cry he can manage, then he’ll hide somewhere quickly laughing as his victim starts. He’ll also sometimes set up rather elaborate traps for birds or any other animal to fly or walk into. Though they’re usually not anything more complicated than some nuts wrapped in leaves up above tied to a vine that will release them if bumped into. He will also steal from anyone or anything if their possessions seem interesting enough. Whether it be food or just some trinket, if it appeals to his liking, he’ll steal it. While stealing is usually the only time he’s ever quiet, as he loves to fly around calling aimlessly. Sometimes he’ll land in a populated area and give a warning call when there’s no danger just to see everyone panic and get a good laugh. Toby is also very brave to the point that it is foolish and almost suicidal. Though he knows better than to turn around and fight back against a bird who has targeted him as its prey, he’s not afraid to fly up to a bird much bigger than himself and speak his mind. Toby is a loner for the most part and doesn’t live amongst other blue jays. He doesn’t migrate, either, as he’s afraid he’ll get lost and never make it back home where he feels safe.
:: PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION ::
Toby looks average for a blue jay. His feathers are a pretty blue color that fades to gray toward his head. The wing feathers and tail are striped black with white tips. Black feathers mark his face and create a thick collar around his neck. When active, the feathers lay close against his body, revealing a lean figure that makes him look rather small. When relaxed, the feathers bush out a bit, making him look plump. When agitated or mad, the feathers flay out wildly, making him look plain crazy. His left leg is a bit stiff and awkward after a scuffle with a squirrel when Toby was trying to steal its nuts. He tries his best to ignore it, but the lameness is a particular disadvantage when foraging on the ground.
:: HEART&SOUL ::
FRIENDSHIP:: Toby is actually very friendly when he’s not talking to someone he plans to steal from or trick. He likes company and craves attention—one reason why he does all the childish things he does. He wishes he had a “partner in crime” that would steal and play tricks on others with him, but he’s honestly too shy to ask anyone, as most birds find him incredibly annoying and don’t like him.
LOVE:: Toby is young and rather immature, so romance is that last thing on his mind. He’s yet to meet anyone he’s found attractive, but that may be because he doesn’t socialize on a regular basis. If asked what he thinks about love, he’d probably say it’s a waste of energy he could be using to pull pranks.
